Ohio State receiver Trevon Grimes is taking a leave of absence from the team to deal with a family health issue, Urban Meyer confirmed Wednesday to Bill Landis of Cleveland.com.

Meyer noted that Grimes will be away indefinitely, but remains on the team.

Grimes was a highly-touted four-star recruit, ranking 35th overall in the ESPN 300.

The freshman has been used sparingly by the Buckeyes so far in 2017, totaling three catches for 20 yards.
